Be Still...The End

I'm just catching up with my photos for the last few weeks of Be Still 52. I'm sad it's ended  as I liked having a prompt each week:) It was a fun year though !

Week 51 Still Moving

Focusing on movement within the still life frame .

The Studio Online Week of June 1 - Human Touch

There were some absolutely stunning photos from other group members for this prompt ! Mine are just simple photos, but it was interesting to add the "human touch" .....I may try some more experimenting with this...

I'm Back !

Hello friends !  I'm finally in a place where I have some free time....moving house is definitely a hectic time.  We still have boxes to be unpacked and lots of things to do around our new house, but we are really enjoying it. ( Probably because there is no time limit.....it does feel very liberating not to have to be on a schedule )

So my still life photos have come to a screeching halt for now. All my props are still in boxes until I get around to painting my new "studio" space in the basement.  Currently it is painted a delightful mix of bright blue and bright yellow, with blue carpet.  I'm going to paint everything white eventually.

I do have some wildlife photos to share though ( some of you may have seen them on Instagram or Flickr ) There is a wonderful park near us and I took my camera and 70-200mm lens one day to see what we could find !

The photos of the eagle were taken with a fellow photographer's 600mm ( +1.4extender = 840mm !! ) which he very kindly let me attach to my camera !

Thanks for visiting !

Have a great week,

7 days and counting....

Not long now until the big move....the packing has been rather exhausting, but we can see light at the end of the tunnel.  I just hope the weather co-operates next Monday as the truck gets loaded. The forecast is 90F and storms, but maybe the storms will be later in the day, fingers crossed !

Oh and call me crazy, but I signed up for an online class by Emily Quinton called Makelight Worldwide...4 weeks, 3 lessons a week, starting on June 15 ! Hopefully , the craziness of unpacking will have been dealt with by then !

A quick catch up

Well, the house selling and buying is going pretty smoothly so far, and we close on our house here in NC on June 2nd !

We found a lovely little brick ranch ( bungalow in the UK ) in Saint Clair Shores, MI.  Hubby and I are so excited !  The new house was built in 1957 and has only had one owner ! How amazing is that ! ? So now we will be the owners of a bathroom with vintage pink tile and some 1987 appliances !  I'm really looking forward to putting our own mark on the house ( hubby has a huge garage to play in ....lol ) and have been scouring Pinterest for ideas for a few months now.  My mind is brimming !

The house is about a 5 minute walk from Lake Saint Clair, and there are sidewalks !!! I've lived in the USA for nearly 15 years and this will be the first time that I will be able to go out of my front door and WALK !!! You can't imagine what a big deal that is to me ;) Lake Saint Clair connects Lake Huron and Lake Erie and Canada is just visible in the far distance. As a child I was always fascinated by the Great Lakes and Niagara Falls. I never dreamed I would be living so close to them .

Here is a pic of our cute little house and yes , we have a lighthouse in the front yard !

I need to catch up on my photos for my classes......

Catching up again

Oh gosh, my week has been so busy, but the good news is that we have sold our house ! Now the panic really sets in trying to find another house 800 miles away......and then the packing......breathe, Caz, breathe !

Anyway despite all that, I insist on taking time out to photograph, I go into withdrawal if I don't ......

Be Still 52 Week 46 - Typography

My sweet friend Viv, who lives in the UK sent me some wonderful Cath Kidston items...button, fabric and bias binding. You can see the fabric in the top right of the photo below...so pretty ! She also used some gorgeous washi tape to seal the tissue everything was wrapped in and it was perfect for the Typography prompt I thought.....and for Friday Finds over at KimKlassen.com

The Studio Online - April 20 Music Prompt

This was a lovely prompt by the lovely Aeleen !

This one was inspired by Spiegel im Spiegel. It reminded me of falling petals.

This second image was inspired by The Flower Duet and was featured by Kim Klassen on her blog which was rather thrilling. I was humbled to be among so many wonderful artists !

Have a WONDERFUL weekend,

Flowers and Birds

I love Spring ! I'm sure everyone does, it's so nice to go outside and enjoy the fresh air, hear the birds singing, and see all the new growth.  I didn't have to go far to find something to photograph, just out into the back yard !

I do love clematis !

I edited the photo below with kk_organic, I like the dark, mysterious feel it gave to the image.

A handsome male American Goldfinch who very kindly stayed in one place for me !

 Close up of an evergreen

A  blackberry in the making

A nuthatch has moved into one of our nesting boxes, I think there may already be babies !

Another clematis shot
