Frugal Still Life Photography – Week 5

This week at http://cherylmccainphotography.com Cheryl expanded on the previous week's class introducing us to the idea of complementary colors. This green/blue is opposite the orange shades on the color wheel.

I have been away this week, spending a few days near Charleston, SC, and one day we went into the city and to my delight I found the Anthropologie store ......heaven !!! I bought this gorgeous bowl for only $4 and the orange was in my fridge already, so I didn't spend too much on this still life ...:) I can see the bowl featuring in future photos, I just love the shape and color, and the crazing is wonderful.

Wishing everyone a safe and warm weekend.

  2. Hi Brit - Your choise of colors is lovely ... Turquise does make those delicate oranges pop out! Your composition is beautiful, as well as the use of texture, that frames your work is a beautiful way!
PS. I wonder if the Anntropologue -boutique is in Europe I've read so much about it!

  3. Oh, we were just in Charleston two weeks ago, during that cold spell! My fingers almost froze off as I tried to photograph: check my blog for some things we saw and places to stay!
I love this image: it's so stylized as to almost seem like a painting. Beautiful colors and textures! i didn't have time to do anything this week, but at least can come and visit everyone else tonight!
