Be Still Week 34 - Spoons

Another fun assignment this week, spoons and sidelight, and exploring shadows.

I added kk_onair to the first 3 images, with a little tweaking in the clarity and exposure.

The next three are auto tuned and tweaked in clarity and exposure.( no preset)

A view of my lovely set up ! It is set on a side table in my sunroom, so I have to kneel on a cushion or sit on a little footstool to get the right height.
( Hopefully I will have a space in our next home where I can have a nice table !)

It's a bit hard on my poor old bones .....I'm going to reach the grand age of 60 on Sunday Feb 1st  which is amazing, the years have passed SO quickly and 60 seems so "old"...... BUT I am truly grateful to be able to celebrate this birthday considering my tussles with cancer in the last 5 years. I am filled with joy to be able to continue with my passion for photography and to have "met" so many lovely people because of it .

60 is the new 40 :)

  1. Oh, you share the same birth date as my dear daughter-in-law! So happy you are excited to celebrate it, and I want to wish you a very lovely and happy year, with lots of photography enjoyment!! I LOVE your images, and the mood of each of them. That spoon is just so beautiful, perfect with the cute creamer, and coffee beans! I adore the second from the top and can envision it in a nice wall print. xx

  2. I had to smile about you saying you have to sit on a stool, well that is my preference as I have a really bad back, so a stool helps me out. I forgot about the side light, but that is ok I will live vicariously through you. All of your images are lovely with that side lighting.

  3. I like seeing your setup. I am always interested in seeing how different ones set up for their shots.
I think the 4th shot is my favorite as I really like the blue creamer as it adds a touch of color...

  6. Happy Birthday!! Love seeing your set up and I can empathize with the "old bones" statement. (Is that really me creaking when I get up???) Love the warmth of these shots and the beautiful composition!

  10. How delightful images, Caz ... I adore round items - the spoon, the pretty white cup and the milk jar - together with the coffee beans! The depth of field in the photos, focusing on different parts of the spoon, gives a wonderful play.
And - Happy Birthday to you!
