Friday Finds

A beautiful find today....I saw movement out of the corner of my eye and saw a bird of prey land in one of the pine trees at the end of my backyard.  I quickly changed the lens on my camera and very slowly opened the door and managed to capture a few shots of this beauty. Unfortunately I think he/she had just caught one of my garden birds, but such is nature.  I'm not sure what type of bird of prey this is, but I think it may be a juvenile.

  2. Oh this is amazing!! What lens did you use? I never can get anything this clear for a long distance shot. This looks like a young hawk of some kind. It's wings look huge.

    1. Thanks Beverly, I used my Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 at 200mm, but this is still quite heavily cropped :) I was leaning against the door jamb to steady myself a bit :)
