A quick catch up

Well, the house selling and buying is going pretty smoothly so far, and we close on our house here in NC on June 2nd !

We found a lovely little brick ranch ( bungalow in the UK ) in Saint Clair Shores, MI.  Hubby and I are so excited !  The new house was built in 1957 and has only had one owner ! How amazing is that ! ? So now we will be the owners of a bathroom with vintage pink tile and some 1987 appliances !  I'm really looking forward to putting our own mark on the house ( hubby has a huge garage to play in ....lol ) and have been scouring Pinterest for ideas for a few months now.  My mind is brimming !

The house is about a 5 minute walk from Lake Saint Clair, and there are sidewalks !!! I've lived in the USA for nearly 15 years and this will be the first time that I will be able to go out of my front door and WALK !!! You can't imagine what a big deal that is to me ;) Lake Saint Clair connects Lake Huron and Lake Erie and Canada is just visible in the far distance. As a child I was always fascinated by the Great Lakes and Niagara Falls. I never dreamed I would be living so close to them .

Here is a pic of our cute little house and yes , we have a lighthouse in the front yard !

I need to catch up on my photos for my classes......

  1. So nice to catch up on your news Caz, the home is just perfect. I can't wait to see what you and your hubby do with all your ideas. Your still life's are always so wonderful. Love that huge bobbin, I guess that is what it is or what it is called. Your change is so good, love the edit.

  2. Hi Caz! Your unique vessel is absolutely perfect! The cluster of 5 make such a pretty spray of single tulips and empty bobbins! Great idea! I adore your new home! It is so cute, and looks like a homespun style you are going to love. A neatly manicured yard, with flower beds already to go! And hubby gets some special things too! St. Clair Shores sounds so lovely! Love your images, especially the coffee/tea/change from the top down! Have a very nice weekend...I'm sure you have lots on your mind, and many things to do.

    1. Hi Beverly ! Thank you so much, yes our new house is more like an "English" house....smaller rooms, nice little garden with flower beds....I will be in my element ( although I'm not sure how I will cope with all the snow ! ) Packing is going pretty well, I'm taking it slowly and trying not to get stressed. Enjoy your weekend also , I'm sure little Teddy is keeping you hopping :)))

  4. Your new house is wonderful! Your mention of pink tile in the bathroom brought back memories of the first house my family lived in. :) You will have fun making the house your home. Your images are beautiful. I love your unique vessel images. Your change and tea from above is beautiful too, I like how the color of the string and teacup are similar. Have a great weekend!

  7. Caz, I am overjoyed for this transition in your life . . . perhaps because I am looking forward to a few years from now when we will do the same . . . down size to a smaller home full of character. Love the image of your new home, and I enjoy hearing all about the process - especially can't wait to see how you decorate. It's easy to see how your photography gives you a resting place - every picture is beautiful!
