Texture Tuesday 12/23/14

Hello , I hope everyone is prepared and ready for the big day !  I have managed to do as much as I wanted to, but have been ignoring my blog ! I will be better next year hopefully, as I will be celebrating a milestone birthday at the beginning of February and I'm hoping to document my year in photos.......

So this is a quick post to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year !

  1. Oooh, I love the music sheets folded into stars! A great idea - I may look for that pattern since today I came across some of my old piano books that I no longer need, but wanted to keep the sheet music. Love the pinecones...very wintery!! Merry Christmas Caz!

  3. Caz, Okay, first of all I've got to make some of those origami stars (I got the directions from our friend Odile). And I love your pine cones; I'm in the process of bleaching some (another idea from one of our friends - though I've forgotten which one!) And so, your photo for this Christmas Eve brings me great joy as I see how one friend teaches another, how simple things make beautiful pictures, and how much beauty there is in the world. Caz, I'll look forward to your year - milestone birthday and all - and can't wait to see what good things the new year brings for you! PS I'll be 55 this year which feels like a milestone, too - at least it comes with a few discounts!

    1. Thanks Donna ! I have to admit that I did buy these stars , but have every intention of trying to make some as well ! I just found a bag of these pine cones at the antique mall, but I'm also trying the bleaching trick on some "normal" pine cones from my garden. I think it was Beverly who has already tried the bleaching trick.
You're right about the discounts....! My next birthday has a big fat zero on the end of it and I'm trying to get my head around how old I will be. But it's better than the alternative as they say ! Wishing you a lovely and peaceful Christmas xo
